nOURish BRIDGEPORT operates one of the only BABY CENTER program serving the South End and West Side of Bridgeport, providing diapers, infant formula, baby food, and wipes to over 2,700 families or about 11,000 babies in 2025. For families with young children, these essentials aren't optional; they're the foundation that makes everything else possible.

It is easy to overlook how important diapers and formula are to a family’s ability to function, but the effects of not having them can reach far beyond a baby’s immediate needs.
Babies may be unable to attend daycare or early childhood education programs without an adequate supply of diapers.
Without reliable childcare, parents may be unable to work, attend school, complete job training, or pursue other opportunities that help their families become more stable.
A shortage of basic baby supplies can therefore affect household income, employment, education, and a child’s early development.
