FOOD HUB
In addition to serving neighbors directly, nOURish BRIDGEPORT operates as a FOOD HUB for the greater Bridgeport region, distributing food to partner organizations, agencies, and programs throughout the community from Ansonia to Norwalk. Rather than every organization sourcing and storing food independently, we centralize that work, allowing us to receive, store, and redistribute food efficiently to the people and places that need it most... No food is wasted.
View Our PartnersStrengthening the Regional Food Assistance Network
Food insecurity is not limited to one neighborhood, one population, or one type of household. No single organization can meet the full need alone.
By serving as a regional FOOD HUB, nOURish BRIDGEPORT helps smaller pantries, shelters, faith-based organizations, and community groups access the food resources they need to serve their own neighbors.
This collaborative model strengthens the entire food-assistance network across Bridgeport and the surrounding region.
It helps reduce duplicated work, improves food storage and distribution, allows organizations to share resources, and helps donated food reach more people.
Receiving, Storing, and Distributing Food at Scale
By partnering with food banks, growers, retailers, and other sources of food donations, we are able to bring in food at scale and distribute it where it's needed most, supporting other organizations' missions while staying true to our own.
Whether you're an organization looking to partner with us, a donor interested in supporting food distribution at scale, or a volunteer ready to help move food where it needs to go, our FOOD HUB program is what allows nOURish BRIDGEPORT's impact to reach well beyond our own walls.
Our FOOD HUB Partners
nOURish BRIDGEPORT is proud to work with organizations that provide food assistance, housing support, recovery services, veteran services, community outreach, and other essential programs throughout the region.
Support the FOOD HUB
The FOOD HUB depends on organizations, businesses, donors, growers, retailers, and volunteers who believe food resources should reach the communities that need them most.
Community organizations can partner with us to receive food, coordinate distribution, and strengthen services for the neighbors they already support.
Donors can help fund food purchasing, transportation, storage, equipment, and distribution at a scale that supports multiple programs and organizations.
Volunteers can help receive deliveries, sort food, prepare orders, organize inventory, and move food throughout the region.
