SUPER FOOD PANTRY
The SUPER FOOD PANTRY at nOURish BRIDGEPORT is one of the largest food access resources in our community, feeding thousands of individuals every week.
We provide a wide variety of perishable and non-perishable groceries, along with fresh produce grown in our own INDOOR HYDROPONIC FARM.
Quality and nutrition are at the heart of our work. By improving access to healthy food, we help support better health outcomes for our neighbors, regardless of income or economic circumstances.
Shopper’s Choice: Dignity in Every Visit
Unlike traditional food pantries, our Shopper’s Choice model allows every neighbor to select only the food they want and need, much like a regular grocery-shopping experience.
We believe food assistance should always come with dignity, choice, and respect. Our pantry is designed around that belief.
By The Numbers
- Served 15,000 families/households - Approximately 57,000 individuals
- Distributed 700,000 lbs. of food
- Delivered local fresh produce through partnerships with 20 Connecticut farms
Support When Benefits Are Not Enough
SNAP benefits are a vital resource for millions of American families, but they were never designed to carry a family through an entire month.
For many families, benefits run out well before the end of the month. Without a strong community safety net, there may be nowhere else to turn.
That is where nOURish BRIDGEPORT steps in.
Our SUPER FOOD PANTRY, FEEL THE WARMTH MOBILE HOT MEALS, BABY CENTER, and FOOD HUB distribution programs work together to ensure that the end of a family’s SNAP benefits does not mean the end of their access to food and essential supplies.
Together, these programs help bridge the difference between what government assistance provides and what families actually need, including nutritious groceries, fresh produce, hot meals, and baby essentials.
Groceries for Families in Crisis
nOURish BRIDGEPORT also provides a discreet grocery-support program for families experiencing crisis, in partnership with The Center for Family Justice.
Families referred through this partnership receive safe, private, and confidential access to groceries during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
