Bringing the Thanksgiving Table Home! There is something deeply powerful about a family gathering around a table for a shared meal. It is a moment of warmth, belonging, and gratitude, and a reminder that even during difficult times, there are still reasons to pause and give thanks.
At nOURish BRIDGEPORT, we believe every family deserves that moment. Every family. Without exception.
That is why we created THANKSGIVING FEAST IN A BOX.
What Is THANKSGIVING FEAST IN A BOX?
Every year, nOURish BRIDGEPORT assembles and distributes complete, ready-to-cook Thanksgiving dinners to 500 families throughout our community. That represents approximately 3,500 meals for neighbors who need them most.
Each box contains everything a family needs to prepare a full, traditional Thanksgiving dinner in the comfort of their own home.
Because our community is beautifully diverse, every box includes preparation instructions translated into multiple languages. This helps ensure that every family, regardless of where they came from or what language they speak, can fully participate in one of America’s most meaningful traditions.
More Than a Meal
THANKSGIVING FEAST IN A BOX is about more than food. It is about dignity. It is about inclusion. It is about making sure that on a day when the rest of the country is gathered around a table in celebration, no Bridgeport family feels left behind or left out.
For many of the families we serve, this box represents the only way a complete Thanksgiving dinner would be possible.
For a newly arrived refugee family experiencing its first American Thanksgiving, it is a welcome into a tradition they are now part of. For a single parent stretching every dollar, it removes one major burden during an already stressful season. For an elderly neighbor living alone, it is a reminder that the community sees them and cares for them.

Distribution day is one of our favorite days of the year. There is something uniquely joyful about watching families receive their boxes and knowing that, within just a few days, kitchens across Bridgeport will be filled with the warmth and aroma of Thanksgiving meals prepared with love.
Our volunteers arrive with tremendous energy and heart. The gratitude they receive in return stays with them long after the final box has been handed out. It is one of those rare moments when the act of giving and the act of receiving feel equally powerful.

Give Every Family a Seat at the Table
THANKSGIVING FEAST IN A BOX is made possible entirely through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and volunteers who believe every family deserves to celebrate Thanksgiving with dignity.
- Donate: A financial gift helps us purchase and assemble Thanksgiving boxes for families in need. A donation of $100 provides a complete Thanksgiving dinner for an entire family.
- Sponsor: Businesses, organizations, and community partners can underwrite multiple boxes. Recognition opportunities may be available at different sponsorship levels.
- Volunteer: Join us on distribution day for one of the most joyful and meaningful volunteer experiences of the year.
